Betty Lynn Klinger

	Betty Lynn Klinger, age 84, of Pinckneyville, departed this life into everlasting life Monday, January 14, 2002 at her home in Pinckneyville.
	Betty was born May 9, 1917 to Dr. J.L. and Trella Beatrice (Burch) Quillman in DuQuoin.  Betty was chosen as one of Pinckneyvilles first Mardi Gras Queens in 1933 and graduated from PCHS in 1935.  Betty married Robert W. Klinger in Galesburg on October 30, 1936 and he preceded her in death January 14, 1991.  Betty attended Knox College in Galesburg and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.  She was also a member of the D.A.R., Pinckneyville Womens Club, United Methodist Women, Church Women United, AFSCME Local #56 and the Republican Womens Club.  Betty worked at Pinckneyville Community Hospital in the late 1960s and retired in 1982 from the Department of Corrections after working at Menard Correctional Center and the Vandalia Correctional Center. 	
	Betty is survived by a son, Stephen L. Klinger and wife Judy of New Port Richey, Fla.; a daughter, Suzie Mohr and husband Walter Lee of Pinckneyville; five grandchildren, Traci Wolf and husband Dennis of Overland, Mo., Sheryl Deskin and husband Brent of Chesterfield, Mo., Becki Cowley and husband Kevin of Pinckneyville, Brandon Mohr and wife Lori of Pinckneyville and Lauren M. Klinger of Galesburg; three great-grandchildren, Tara Anne Deskin, Brayden Shane Cowley and Chase Ryan Deskin and one niece, Marsha Upson of Minneapolis, Minn.  Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant brother, Warren and one sister, Phyllis Upson in September of 2001.
	Funeral services were Saturday morning, January 19 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Pinckneyville with Dr. Robert Smith officiating.  Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery in Pinckneyville.
	Friends called at the United Methodist Church in Pinckneyville Friday evening, January 18 from 6 until 9 p.m. and again on the day of service from 8 until 11 a.m.
	Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the United Methodist Women of Pinckneyville or Hospice of Perry County.
	Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville was in charge of arrangements.
